Treasure Hunt brings communities together
Local Resident Tammy Logan and Massey Matters Project coordinator Sam Farquhar are coordinating Our amazing place Community Treasure Hunt on Saturday 23rd March at 10am, Teams of people will discover the “real” treasures of the Colwill and West Harbour, Our Amazing Place Community Treasure Hunt is a free community event showcasing different stations where teams will either do an activity, quiz, community service or answer a question. The Treasure hunt is an initiative of Violence Free Waitakere
Stations include kindies, schools, churches, community groups, the library, parks and lots of community activities with the emphasis on fun and getting to know a local area.
“People can register on the day and choose one of the two routes, Sam Farquhar from Massey Matters said. “It’s a walking, running, biking, skating, donkey riding type of challenge to get people out and active.”
“The Treasure hunt will end at Moire Park Neighbours Day Picnic where prizes will be drawn and entertainment, stalls and music will take place starting at 1.00pm” she said.
Our Amazing Place Community Treasure Hunt starts at 10.00am at either Colwill or West harbour school on Saturday 23rd March Rain date 6th April. Registration opens at 9.15am.
Because of the weather, participants are encouraged to bring rain gear as well as a sunhat!
