The Massey & Birdwood Settlers Association always welcomes new members.

As a resident and ratepayer group we represent the views of the community to the local Council and Government, ensuring adequate resources are spent in the community that will benefit the whole community.

We have been doing this since 1925.

Massey Employment Programme – 2013

Finding a job can be a long and winding road, fraught with frustration.

This year we have been lucky enough to secure a second lot of funding to run the Massey Employment Gateway Programme. Organised by Enterprising Communities, Workers Educational Association (WEA), Waitakere Literacy, Massey Matters and other partners, the project is being funded by a grant from ACE Aotearoa. The Programme is also being supported by the Massey Community Trust, the Massey Community House, Massey Birdwood Settlers Association, Leataata O Tupulaga O Le Pasefika early childhood centre in Moire Road as well as some of our local Primary Schools.

Massey and NorWest residents can register their interest for an eight week “Get Employment Ready” Course and gain a work related certificate, a sharp CV, improved interview skills and support from a mentoring coach to become job ready.

Registrations can be made at Massey Community House on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 18th July between 9.30am and 11.20am.

Running alongside the 8 week programme there will also be a number of “Clinics”. They will be held at venues in the local community. These “Clinics” will provide opportunities for other members of our community to participate in sessions on CV Writing, Interview Preparedness, Online Job Search and Be Your Own Boss.

You may notice that to the left of this site a link to Auckland Transport.

The Auckland Transport site provides you with detailed information on road works on both interactive maps and lists on the www.aucklandtransport.govt.nz website. These are regularly updated as new information comes to hand from our contractors and other sources and also includes traffic density and other local information. The inquiries can be narrowed down to individual addresses on a map so that as a resident you can personally seek information on the Internet, about conditions on your own street.

Auckland Transport welcomes you to use this information or by accessing the dynamic databases available on the Auckland Transport site when you plan your journey’s around Massey or greater Auckland.

Lincoln Road Interchange Improvement

The Lincoln Road Interchange is progressing well and should be finished by the 26th June 2015.

Lincoln rd interchangeFulton Hogan who are leading the construction recently won a safety award at the Auckland Branch agm of the NZ Contractors Federation, for the project.

The project is being being built for the NZ Transport Agency, the value of the project $115 million.

Started in January 2011 the projects vital safety statistics are LTIFR (Long Term Injury) of 4.70 (per million manhours), MITFR (Medical Term Injury) of 11.75 and 881 days since the last LTI. The percentage of zero harm days are 98.53% and the number of hours worked to date on the project 413,916.
